The First Stage - Beginning of Natural fibre Fabrics

  • 1974
    Established Ford Textile Co., Ltd. (the precursor of BeBe Cotton Knitting Co., Ltd.), and specialized in all kinds of knitted fabrics made with medium and high count yarn of natural fibers including pure cotton, linen and wool supplying many domestic reputable garment factories.
  • 1981
    Established Hsing-Chuang knitting factory.
    Installed our first 28-gauge engineered jacquard Fukuhara machine.
  • 1982
    Research & development on double mercerized cotton fabrics.
    Started trading with Toyobo (Japan) for raw materials sourcing.
  • 1983
    Development on functional fabrics. (Anti-pilling & Quick dry)
  • 1984
    Set up international trading department to handle import business. Being Seiken Chemical’s (Japan) agent in Taiwan. Mastered in pure cotton fabrics “3S” finishing treatment technique (Soft & Silky, Stretch-back, Shrink-proof)
  • 1985
    Installed computerized jacquard machines. Began producing Intarsia fabrics with 28-gauge machine.

Breakthrough stage — Development on lingerie fabrics with natural fib

  • 1987
    Attended Interstoff Far East Trade Service.
  • 1988
    Set up Wu- Ku factory to assist the finishing process in various kinds of performance fabrics. (Anti-bacteria, anti-odour, mildew prevention, transpire sweat and quick dry).
  • 1989
    Established garment division to produce socks and men’s underwear.
  • 1990
    Used Bio-Touch process with non-chemical agent, producing soft, smooth and quick perspiration absorbing fabrics.
  • 1992
    Withdrawn garment division.

Evolution stage — Development on more diverse products

  • 1994
    Set up U.K. company MayCotton Enterprise Ltd.
    Started research on developing product with new fibre and materials.
  • 1995
    Started direct export business.
    Set up R&D department to research international fashion trend and information, and source new materials for developing, sampling and producing.
    ODM collections reached 300 article/year.
    Began to produce Modal® series product.
  • 1996
    Direct exporting achieved 15% of the turnover.
    Granted with OKO TEX certificate.
    Began to produce micro-fiber Polyamide, Tactel® and Maystar® series product.
  • 1997
    Direct exporting achieved 30% of the turnover ;
    R&D collections reached 100 article/year ; Began to produce Strata® series product.
  • 1998
    Direct exporting achieved 35% of the turnover
    Closed UK company MayCotton and moved its R&D division back to the Taipei main office. Began to produce Lyocell®, Tencel® series product.
  • 1999
    Combined MayCotton with Taipei main office.
    Set up London showroom to display new collection for European business.
  • 2000
    Established Mian-Pin Be Be Cotton Knitting Co., Ltd. in France for customer services.

New era I - Go globalization

  • 2001
    Attended Interfiliere Paris & Lyon Moda City exhibitions for the first time.
    Began to produce Futura Franzoni® series product.
  • 2002
    Moved our quality control department in WU-Ku Factory to Taipei main office.
    Began to produce Coolmax®, Skinlife®, Skincare, Far-infrared, Quick-dry and Keep-warm series product.
  • 2003
    Started using digital printing system for new product development.
    Began to produce multi-functional Fabric (UV-cut, Quick-dry, Anti-bacterial 3 in 1)
  • 2004
    Closed London Showroom in August, Moved European Business division back to Taipei Head office.
    Increased existing dyeing laboratory facility with the addition of ‘Minidyrama 4/R-20’ dyeing testing machine ranging from 2 kg to 80 kg from MCS group of Italy
  • 2005
    Began to produce fabric with 44-Gauge machine, and low temperature dyeing process of new polyester PTT.

New era II – Go Green & Accomplish Vertical Production

  • 2006
    Started to produce new fabrics which are lightweight, transparent, soft, shining like silk, by using 33-44 Dtex polyamide and polyester super fine yarn.
    Launching quality organic cotton into the market and grabbing international media’s attention
  • 2007
    Entering into the time of “Multi-processed , eco-friendly and functional fabrics”.
    Scaling up the eco-friendly collection with natural-colored cotton
  • 2008
    Developing natural dyeing and natural pigment print in the lab.
    Introducing natural-colored cotton into the bulk production for a well-known brand, Triumph.
  • 2009
    Establishing the dye mill specified for natural dye in Yilan. Developing and researching local source for natural pigment.
    Applying natural pigment print with organic cotton into the bulk production to mass market.
  • 2010
    Relocating the dye mill to Taoyuan to function it efficiently with supply chain and customers.
  • 2011
    Introducing new concept of dyeing, ECO dye with lower temperature than the conventional dye.
  • 2012
    1st Asian Manufacturer to receive the certificate of GOTS 3.0 (Global Organic Textile Standard)
  • 2013
    Accomplish the vertical production in knitting, dyeing & finishing processes.
